Time for a Blog Post

Thursday:
Chris and I bought $5 tickets to go to Provo Beach Resort for an all night all exclusive party event. Everything was open for free! Even drinks were free all night! We went on the flowrider and I totally banged up my head when I wiped out on the surf board. So I stuck with the boogie board most of the time. Chris is a surfing pro! I had no idea! A video is coming soon of his skillz. Afterwards, we went home and watched Hercules! Love love love that movie! Seriously.

Friday:
The night started out late, since I had work til 7. We decided to go to VIP late night at Happy Sumo, which does not start until 9. To "waste" time we went shopping at forever 21. We found a great deal on shorts for Chris for $12. We love 21 Men. I resisted the urge to buy anything. Then we headed on over to the Riverwoods to get some dindin. But Happy Sumo had like an hour wait! So we ate next door at some chinese restaurant. We got lettuce wraps and they were better than p.f. changs, fo real. But, the honey-roasted walnut chicken was a bust. I'm sad we spent $13 on it. I was full after the lettuce wraps appetizer. Afterwards, we went home and watched Vertical Limit. Its an old movie, but really good. I remember writing my creative story in 6th grade and copying every scene straight from the movie. My teacher had no idea. I'm legit.

Saturday {Today}:
Its general conference! woot woot! and my family is in town! pictures will come tomorrow.

Seersucker

This is the shirt that I have been slaving away on for weeks now. I finished it last night at 11 pm. It is due in my class today and Chris and wearing it to school! So proud! I think he looks like a stud in it. He has already got tons of compliments on it. I guess its a unique fabric for a men's shirt - seersucker. He could easily wear this to the beach or something. My next project? A little girl's dress. I got blue polka dot fabric with yellow flower buttons. Its gonna be adorable.

Serious Senioritis

So I graduate in less than a month and I have serious senioritis. I keep thinking about the assignments that are due in my classes and whether I can get away with not doing them and still pass the class. Like I have never thought this way before. I am such a slacker! All I care about is just getting a B average for the semester. I don't need As. I'm just gonna pass for average. I put in average effort in my homework assignments. I just can't wait for this semester to be over! I'm sick of school and exams and grades! I can't even imagine what my life will be like not being in school. I've been in school for the past 18 years! Gah!

Hunger Games Review

So Chris and I saw the Hunger Games last night!!! And here are our reviews.

Lauren's Review:
Katniss is amazing! Gale is such a babe! Peeta is super cute! I just wish Gale had more lines in the movie {Team Gale?} I loved this film so much. They made this movie off of the book so well. I may even go so far as to say that the movie is better than the book! Seriously! It is! I cried in the frst 5 minutes of the movie. Oh my gosh Prim is adorable. I was balling with Rue died. Like I felt like I was dying with her and it was terrifying. My heart pounded so much during the reaping and the countdown to the start of the hunger games. I have never been so enthralled in a movie before. I felt like I was there and that I was Katniss.

Chris' Review:
The Hunger Games is very entertaining. Lauren and I sat in packed theatre to watch the movie. The movie followed the book very well. Some relationships were developed even better in the movie. For example the gamemaker Senaca Crane and President Snow. The movie details President Snow's personality perfectly for the future movies. Katniss' impacted the Hunger Games and the audience can see the extent of her defiance in President Snow's actions. I would willingly watch the movie a second and third time.

We are skippers

Today was such a warm and splendid day! I skipped class this morning, and I skipped my other class, so Chris and I went home and had a picnic! Full of chicken noodle soup and ham sandwiches. It was a much needed break from school. Even Chris skipped class! And that is a very rare occurrence.

Just another day

top: forever 21; scarf: nordstrom; skirt: banana republic; shoes: khols

I know a parking lot is super beautiful to look at, which is why I chose it as my background for these pics. Gotta love old sedans and maroon paint. mmm. So today is Wednesday, already?! And Friday I am seeing The Hunger Games. Chris and I read the first book in 2 days and we read the 2nd book in less than a week. We love Katniss! She is so cool! I'm going to dress like her for the premiere... long braid and the blue dress she wears to the reaping? Or maybe the tunic she wears during the tournament? decisions decisions.

Moving on - I work til 7 tonight at the Riviera so if anyone wants to stop by and party with me... do so. Thanks! Also, my coral jeans just got here! From tobi.com. I got them 30% off. They are so cute! Love em to death.

Powder

Yesterday, Chris and I went skiing/snowboarding at Sundance. We had 2 night passes for half off that we got at BYU, so we went for family home evening. It was so nice! There was so much powder snow. It wasn't too cold either. It was a much needed day to spend with my best friend.

St. Patty's Day

Today, Chris and I slept in. We woke up to german pancakes {made by yours truly} and watched a little bball on ncaa. After a couple hours of not brushing our teeth, we decided to get dressed and head over to the temple. I love going to the temple with my husband. So today has been a great day... so far.

Also, I got some new lip gloss from bare escentuals. I am normally just a chapstick kind of girl, but dang this color looks good on me. I always wanted nude, but pink does magical things to a girl.

Check it
Hope your weekend will be as splendid as mine.

Friday: We So Excited!

I have been loving these pleated skirts all over pinterest, but no where to be found in my closet! Why?! I need more clothes. Maybe, now that I work... I can afford it? If only husband would let me...

L-O-V-E this color! If only it wasn't a bajillion dollar bills.
Find this HERE at Bloomingdales
Love the high-low! Find this HERE at Go Jane
Find this HERE at Shabby Apple

2 trends going on here: polka dots & pleats
Find this HERE at Forever 21
Find this HERE
Last, but not least... this little number. And it only costs $38! I love the blue! It just compliments my eyes so much *as I flitter my eyelashes obnoxiously* I think I may splurge today.

So, not much has happened recently with husband and me. Chris, sadly, did not get the internship (his friend did... boo). But, he has applied to tons others, so all is not lost. As for me, I'm reciting N*SYNC's hit song, I Just Got Paid. "I's Friday night, and I ju-ju-ju-ju-juuuuuust got paid! money-money-money-OW-money-money-money-OOOOYEAAAA" So yea, that sums up my weekend. Maybe I will actually buy these skirts.

Life Updates

So it has been really really really warm lately here in Provo. Like over 60 degree weather. Amazing! I am actually wearing flip-flops {thongs?} to school right now in the middle of March. Like normally there is 5 feet of snow on campus and I run to class and slip and scratch my face up on ice {which for some reason happens to me every year}, but not this year guys! The sun is my best friend and the snow wants to give me a break. Thanks. Keep it up! Let's hope this lasts a while. Chris and I could sure use a day outside without freezing our faces off.

Life updates: Chris interviewed for an internship yesterday, only to find out that his friend is also interviewing for the same internship: "Hey Chris, whats up?" "Nothin much, just got out of an interview for an internship" "Oh really? I'm about to interview for the same internship" {awkward silence} "Alright, well see ya!"

Haha so I just totally made up that whole convo, but I'm guessing that's how it went. Dang, sorry friend, but I hope Chris gets it over you...He sure nailed that interview. Chris told me about all the "power statements" he gave. Good job babe, you make me proud.

Also, I can't wait for Hunger Games next week! Chris and I are going next Friday. So excited! Chris will literally be the only dude in our group going. You're such a trooper babe. So I guess that is all that is going on with us. Talk to you later.

Hunger Games Party

Last night, Chris and I went to a Hunger Games event in the Wilk at BYU. There were tons of carnival games where you could win tickets. The tickets were then all placed into two bowls... pink and blue for girls and boys {just like the reaping in the book}. At the end of the event, they picked two pink tickets and two blue tickets. Each winner won 2 free tickets to the midnight showing of the Hunger Games movie. Chris and I already bought our tickets in advance. They also had a station where you can get your hair and makeup done like in the capital {which is known for very colorful hair, makeup, and even skin}. Of course, Chris and I gladly accepted and walked away looking like a masterpiece. I have blue eyebrows everyone... awesome.

Weekend through iphone...

Friday, we went to Provo beach resort. We used to go there a lot when we were dating.
Sunday, we spent the afternoon outside. We napped and read books. I got burned. yes.
Yesterday, Chris and I went rollerblading! It was literally almost 70 degrees yesterday. Best weather ever! Sure love Provo in march. However, Chris and I bought ski passes to Sundance the other day. I sure hope we can use it someday.

Mutant Diaries

So Chris and I were bored last night. Enjoy!

Masquerade

This weekend was a blast! Saturday night, our friend Fenton planned a sikee Masquerade dance party. There was a mask decorating station and I put feathers on mine. Chris did not decorate his at all though. But I thought he still looked like a hot phantom of the opera. I kept singing that masquerade song in that movie all night long. They eventually played in on the ipod. Amazing!

Friday night, Chris and I took on a new child in the family. Savannah Gilliam. She was our little baby girl for the night! We took her out to dinner at Indian Palace. Then we even made her stay up to watch Humor U at BYU. She was amazing! Although, I did neglect to change her diaper, so she peed all over me throughout the night and I did not notice until I got home. Hey, I'm a practicing mother okay? and at least she wasn't my actual child.

Hired

I'm a working woman! Yahoo! So I had my interview yesterday, and they hired me on the spot! I will now be a leasing agent at the Riviera. So excited! Tomorrow is my first day! Chris and I also have another interview tomorrow to live at the berg mortuary for free and just answer the phone if it rings after hours. It would be so sweet it we could live for free and make mulah with my new job. We would sure be living the life as newlyweds.
