Friends... please

So I don't have any pics to put up. And I figured a blog post is not a good post unless there is something to look at, but its been 2 days people! I need to write something! This is my excuse of a journal, so I gotta put something up. Alright, these past couple of days have been a blast! Chris and I have started to actually make some friends in our ward. woot woot! That's an accomplishment for people who spend 24/7 with each other and love it (a.k.a. us) so don't be hatin'. Its hard to get out of our comfort zone, but we're doing it. We had lunch with Javi and Suzie after church on Sunday (they are related to my sister's in-laws). Very fun. Chris owned in Phase 10. Then we had dinner at Crystal's house! Savi was cute as always. She even snuggled me! Babies don't do that... ever. So it was cool. Last night, we had dinner with 2 other couples from our ward. We even got one of them to come to YBall this Saturday {if you're married and go to byu, come!} so thats good. Sadly, Chris and I had to miss the Bachelor last night, but it was a sacrifice worth missing. I just want some friends! Is that so hard to ask for! Why is it so difficult to find some that happen to be married as well? And that your husband gets along with too? I feel like I'm back to square one in dating... weird.

Chef's Table

Last night, for our date night, Chris and I wanted to go out for dinner without spending our entire bank account. So we just went out for dessert to Chef's table. Surprisingly, there was no one there on a Friday night. Guess its only for classy people, like us {sike}. I got the cheesecake (my favorite dessert). Chris got the chocolate cake with ice cream. So delicious. If you notice the first picture of me with the rose, shortly after the shot was taken, I attempted to replace the rose into the vase, and instead hit the whole thing over, causing water to spill everywhere. Not my finest moment.

Something we've been working on

Chris and I have been working long hours on this special event on BYU campus. It is called Y Ball, a classy dinner and a dance for married/engaged couples. There will be a magician, photobooth, bingo, cake(bite) walk, first dance, DJ, and acrobat show (with the divers from the Mayan). So if you're married or going to be soon, bring your lover to this romantic evening. It was going to be a blast! Don't forget to pick up your dinner ticket! Sales go on this Monday. See you all there!

Film Festival

Last night, Chris and I went to go see a movie at the Sundance film festival. I have gone up to park city every year for the film festival, but I have never gone to actually see one of its movies. Isn't that weird? Yea, I thought so too. But this year we did! There were only tickets left for one movie in park city, so we bought it without researching what the movie was actually going to be about. It was called whiteonwhite:algorithmicnoir. Alright, so you can tell by the name that it is bound to be weird. I figured yea, probably a little bit. But holy cow! Woah! My mind was blown with the lack of sense the movie made. Like did you really spend 100,000 dollars on this crap? For 60 minutes of pain? The "movie" {if you can even call it that} was just full of random clips of places with random audio and subtitles of some russian lady speaking. It deserved a big W.T.F. if you ask me. We sure learned our lesson... don't buy the last tickets to a movie... it was obviously not sold out for a reason. gosh. But, we did have a fun date night, dinner at pizza & noodle, hot chocolate from rocky mountain chocolate factory, and a "sweet" show {sweet stands for horrible}

movie, vball, halo, & a walk

This weekend consisted of tons of fun activities. Friday, we got home from school pretty late and headed over to our ward social. We played the newlywed game! Chris and I surprisingly know each other really well. We were in the top 4 couples in the ward that knew each other best. I think the winner was the bishop and his wife, which isn't fair because they've been married for 40 some odd years. But at least Chris and I made it up there. Afterwards, we rented Water for Elephants from the clubhouse. They were having a party over there, so Chris and I just had to stay a while. We danced alone to the DJ and had some free pizza from CPK. After we got the single social life out of our system, we went home to watch the movie. So good!

Saturday night, Chris and I went to the BYU volleyball game. Volleyball is not my favorite, but it is Chris', so I tried to be a good sport about watching over an hour of it. We ended up going home before the game ended because volleyball games are just too long. And not really entertaining. Sorry. Afterwards, we played Halo. We loved it! At first we were playing on legendary difficulty level (which is the hardest) and we could not get past this one phase. It was horrible! Then we realized why we sucked and changed it to easy mode and flung through the whole level. I believe video games are good only when you play with other people. No solo gamers.

Sunday, Chris and I had church at 9 am. So early... but we got through it. It was also the first time that I taught sunday school. I was so nervous. Talking in front of people is not my strong suit. But it is surprisingly easy. I just asked lots of questions and led the discussion. Easy as cake. I'm glad that I don't teach for 3 more weeks though. It's just so nerve wrecking. Then we went to a friends' house for lunch and games. Then we watched 2 episodes of LOST. We love that show. Only 2.5 more seasons to go. So close! Then we went on a walk... which are the pictures above. Love my camera. And now, it's Monday again. Which means school. I have a paper to write. peace.

We are sports fans

We went to a basketball game last night.
Sadly, BYU was defeated. It was such a tight, close game. Super intense. But of course, my attention span is that of a hamster, so I lost interest somewhere in the middle of the second half. I'm not sure, I wasn't really paying attention to the time. But I did pay attention to the half time show! These 3 guys in the middle of the court were super weird at first, but then it got sweet! They kept making these weird designs with hoola hoops. They started off with 1 and then got up to like 15, it was saweeet!
Then we headed over to Abby's apartment so Chris could get his hair cut. It involved funny youtube videos, family feud, and beating each other's scores on temple run. I finally beat Chris' score. Now I have 1 million 700 thousand something. Super cool, right?

Love at first sight

Today, I was re-reading several journal entries that my study abroad put together. Each person was required to write an entry for one of the days of our trip. I will never forget my study abroad. Such a fun month and a half! I have made wonderful friends, and even met my husband. Here is a picture of the first day of our study abroad and the first time I met Chris. We started in London. Chris dresses a little better now {thanks to me}, but I still think he looks cute. Please excuse my red hair.

Here is a funny example of how Christopher is. This is his journal entry from the trip:

24 May 2010          Salzburg – Lienz AUSTRIA

(Editor’s Note:  That’s all there is.  Just the date.  Chris Guinn wrote the date, I’m assuming, but didn’t even sign his name, bless his heart.)

Day Off

Monday, we had a day off! Woot! I love 4 day weekends. I also don't have school on Friday, ever. And this is my last semester! So excited to be done with school! So for our day off, we went out for breakfast to Denny's. The first time I went there, it smelled like cigarettes and throw-up. Thankfully, it only smelled like throw-up this time. I got a delicious meal of french toast and hot chocolate. Meanwhile, Chris ordered a "healthy" meal. Gross. Whole wheat pancaked with pecans and bananas. Seriously disgusting. Later that night, we went over to Nickelcade and then watched the Bachelor. We love.

Warm Weekend

We did a lot of fun activities this weekend {not including saying bye to my sister and her family. I'm sure gonna miss those two lil kids. Love ya Vinny and Jayne!} Saturday was such a warm and lovely day that we had a picnic in our backyard which consisted of Hunger Games and football.

Later that night, we sat front row at the BYU basketball game. I won two free tickets on campus by doing some game. Chris lost and I won. Look at that.
We also saw Dayna and Steve, who were further up front than we were... but whatev.
We also saw our good friend Carson doing a cake eating contest. Super gross.

Sunday, my lovely sister Crystal kindly invited us to dinner at her apartment. Savannah was just the cutest.

Last night, Chris and I made plans to go "camping". We don't have a tent or sleeping bags so we slept in our car by the Y mountain. We did not have my car since it is in the shop, so we took Chris' tiny car. It was so small, so we had to keep the back door open, but it was so windy and cold outside! Eventually, I got warm and was comfortable enough to fall asleep. Sadly, Chris gave up and so he drove us back home. So much for camping.
